Two types of painting

There are two kinds of painting.

One is a study of something in front of you. Something you can exercise your seeing and technique with your pencil or brush. 

The other kind comes from with in you, expressing a picture only you have seen. 

But to be able to do your inner picture you first have to do many of the study kind, so that you can control your inner picture to be just like you have seen it.
